Bonsucro is delighted to announce two changes to the Bonsucro Board of Directors:
> Chair of the Members’ Council, Claudia Asensio, Head of Sustainability and New Products at Grupo Pantaleon
Bonsucro would like to formally welcome Claudia Asensio as the new Chair of the Members’ Council following her previous role as Vice Chair, taking over from Alex Bjork.
Dr. Claudia Asensio manages the Corporate Responsibility division for Pantaleon Group, a sugarcane, ethanol and energy production company in Latin America.
On her new role with Bonsucro, Claudia notes she “Looks forward to further promote the adoption of sustainable business practices in the sugarcane sector, and the uptake of sustainably certified sugar on behalf of end users”.

> Vice-Chair of The Members Council, Meredith Smith, Sustainability and Quality Director – Americas, ED&F Man Liquid Products LLC
Bonsucro would also like to formally welcome Meredith Smith as the New Vice- Chair of the Members Council after receiving unanimous support from the Members’ Council. Meredith is responsible for sustainability, quality, and food safety for the Americas region at ED&F Man, and supports ED&F Man’s coffee and sugar divisions to ensure the regulatory compliance of its US businesses.
On her new role with Bonsucro, Meredith says “As a founding member of Bonsucro, ED&F Man has always supported and continues to champion advancements in sugarcane sustainability. As the Vice-Chair of the Members Council, I will ensure that Members’ views are adequately represented and that the Members Council is fully informed. I look forward to participating on the Board of Directors to advance industry best practices by increased implementation of the Bonsucro standards.”
