Bonsucro is pleased to announce the Thailand Summit taking place in Bangkok on the 17th & 18th October 2017. This is the opportunity for the leaders of Thai sugarcane industry to come together and discuss about the major challenges the industry is facing and collaborate towards a clear action plan to seize the major sustainability opportunities present in the market space.
The workshop follows the publication of the White Paper on Thai Sugarcane Sector & Sustainability, a study commissioned by Bonsucro examining the Thailand sugarcane industry with up-to-date market intelligence, technical data, relevant government policy and stakeholders’ insights. It identified the key sustainability opportunities and challenges facing the industry today.
Bonsucro aims, through this workshop, to provide a follow-up to the report, and identify workable solutions to the challenges highlighted in the study and advance towards the goals described in the Thailand Country Plan. The workshop will identify the areas within the industry that require support to accelerate certification of mills and farms in Thailand. It will provide a space for peer organization to share, learn and discuss ways to advance together through a clear plan towards sustainability.
The 2-day workshop will:
- Cover the major findings of the Thailand Country Strategy;
- Identify ways to implement recommendations and solutions addressing major challenges recognised;
- Provide consultation on the smallholder standard for farmers in Thailand;
- Provide a space for experience sharing from Bonsucro certified mills and those working towards the achievement of Bonsucro certification.
