On 14 June, we will start the second public consultation on the revision of the Bonsucro Production Standard.
The first public consultation provided us with a wealth of insights. Each comment was read and considered by the working group – and where possible, suggestions were integrated into the new draft. The second public consultation is an opportunity for us to share these changes with stakeholders.
At the launch of the consultation (14th of June) the following documents will be made available:

Consultation Webinars:
During the first week of the consultation, there will be a series of introductory webinars in English, Spanish and Portuguese, summarising the main comments received and how they have been addressed in the latest draft. Please see below the timings of the webinars and registration links.
Over the next few weeks, more webinars will be announced. These webinars will go in-depth into the different topics covered by the draft standard. All webinars held will be recorded and shared on the website.At the beginning of the second consultation, we will release the draft Production Standard, The Guidance to the Production Standard, the Bonsucro Calculator, a summary of changes and a summary of the comments from the first consultation. We will also host themed webinars. During the consultation, pilot audits for the new Production Standard will take place in Brazil, India, Nicaragua, and Eswatini.

How to provide comments:
All stakeholders are invited to provide comments on the second draft via the completion of the consultation survey. This survey will allow stakeholders to provide feedback, suggestions, and clarifications on the changes made by the working group following the first consultation. The Standard consultation documents will be available throughout the consultation period and the survey can be answered at any time before the 13th of July. Bonsucro encourages you to attend the webinars to have a better understanding of the changes before submitting feedback. At the end of the consultation, the comments will be shared with the Standard revision working group who will analyse them to produce the final version of the revised Production Standard. An anonymised summary of the comments will be made available on the Bonsucro website.
The public consultation on the revised Production Standard is an important step to finalise the revised Standard and for the positive impact, it would bring to the sugarcane sector and its stakeholders.
