YonYu Plastics becomes first certified plastic package manufacturer in Asia

29th July 2020

YonYu Plastics has become the first plastic package manufacturer in Asia to obtain a Bonsucro Chain of Custody certificate. The organisation is headquartered in Taiwan and services clients such as P&G, SHISEIDO, KOSE, L’Oreal, Unilever and Coty. YonYu plastics is well-established and has been running since 1964.

The decision to apply for certification came after one of their clients requested an environmentally friendly product, made from biomaterials, for a new product launch. In addition, YonYu Plastics would like to make a long-term business strategy that incorporates more biomaterials. William Wang, President at YonYu Plastics said, “We must do our best on pursuing environmental responsibility.”

Bioplastics, made from Bonsucro-certified sustainable sugarcane, are now being promoted to all YonYu’s customers. There has been a lot of interest in developing related products and using the certification. William Wang said, “more and more customers hope the products in the market will be as eco-friendly as possible.”

The certification is a positive step for YonYu. William Wang said, “We sincerely feel honoured that we can be a member of Bonsucro and hope we can keep making contributions to the environment ever.”
